Laurent Ponsot Bourgogne Rouge 2016 Bottle:1 raspberry and dried herbs waftIts a delightfully pretty, red fruited Burgundy, fleshy though not at all heavy with a juicy, moreish personality and a long finish with hints of forest floor. The silky texture and overall quality for the level is glorious. A peuplier is a poplar tree. On the palate the wine is deep, full bodied and quite succulent out of the blocks, with a good core, fine focus and grip and a long, tangy finish. This is really, really good Bourgogne rouge!
