Prague was a major centre of Nouveau design at the turn of the century. The openwork panels display the classic whiplash lines and organic curves of the movement, almost echoing Alphonse Muchas flowing hair motifs and the stylised botanical forms seen throughout Central European decorative arts. Each panel is set with a soft aqua blue paste stone, mimicking
