明治維新の混乱を経て、1873年に京都五条坂へ移り、以来六代にわたってこの地で陶を焼き続けています。戦火により後継者を失うなどの困難もありながら、五代 欣二様が文齋を襲名し再び家業を支え、現・六代 興様によってさらに現代的な美意識が加えられています。
