Ngalyipi Jukurrpa (Snake Vine Dreaming) A15493 Bush Tucker | Aboriginal Art waterholesYear: 2008 Size: 117 x 179cm acrylic on linen The country referred to in this painting is the Purtulu (Mt Theo) area, situated north west of Yuendumu and is significant to the Napangardi and Napanangka women who are the custodians of the Dreaming. The Ngalyipi (Snake Vine) grows around gum trees and is collected by the Napangardi and Napanangka women to make straps to cure headaches. The leaves from the vine are used as a bandage for cuts and wounds.
