フォルムは、胴の中央に柔らかな膨らみを持たせた「瓢箪型」を思わせる輪郭。その形状は古くから吉祥とされる「実り」「繁栄」の象徴であり、かつ水を湛える器としての機能美を追求した結果ともいえるものです。細長く伸びた頸部は空間を切り取り、花を挿すことで一層の存在感が立ち上がるように設計されています。

茶盌としても：内側はやや立ち上がりがあり、濃茶よりは薄茶・玉露向き。茶の緑が黒釉に映えます。
