NL-GHK-Cu Peptide Therapy: During conducted studies, it was shown that therapy with the NL-GHK-Cu peptide reduced the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and increased superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity while simultaneously decreasing the production of TNF- and IL-6 by suppressing NF-B p65 and p38 MAPK signaling, whereby the peptide weakened histological changes in the lungs caused by damage and suppressed the infiltration of inflammatory cells into the lung parenchyma, resulting in alleviation of lung injury and elimination of ongoing inflammation

however, these claims have not been substantiated and vitamin C is not recommended for these purposes (see Mechanism of Action)
