and it is also called Kuna Beach and Kumukumu Beach

The word Kealia means "salt encrusted"

The falls are accessible via Wailuku River State Park

but at the last moment decided to bring my photo gear

This beach is to the east of Lumahai Beach and by many is incorrectly referred to as Lumahai Beach or East Lumahai. However, it's technically a different beach called Kahalahala, which means Pandanus Trees in Hawaiian. It was made famous by the movie South Pacific filmed here in the late 1950's.
