When I have talked to people flying into Denver for the first time they expect mountains all around being a mile high

This is no longer the case as the motel has been closed

At this time of the year the view from Sloans Lake allows the sun to rise directly over the buildings in downtown Denver

The shallow depth of field helps obscure the real perspective of the size of the sand in the image. This allows the viewer to come to their own conclusion of the scene and allows them to interpret it in their own manner which can also change over time.
