all in the ripe

On the palate there is good size

yet it has a great track record for aging

Jonata, Sangre Vintage:2005 sophisticated and utterly delicious medium-bodiedMatt Dees is the winemaker on a property originally invested in by Charles Banks and Stan Kroenke (in the same stable as Screaming Eagle at one stage). Blackish purple. Not very balanced. Sweetness at the start and then a hot chewy end. Liquorice. Fades a bit fast. A bit fossilised. Tastes as though it hasnt evolved for while. Is this an attempt at a Guigal La La style? Not for me at the moment.
