As is usually the case the broad-shouldered flavors possess more size and weight though perhaps a bit less than I usually see between the Ech and this wine

This magnificent Chevalier should be a genuine stunner in 12 to 15 years

I hasten to add that from tasting

this needs to add depth over time as it’s somewhat one-dimensional today

Rossignol Trapet, Gevrey Chambertin Clos Prieur other_regions_italy Now at fifteen years old(planted in 1985). A markedly more elegant nose shows aromas of the essence of red pinot fruit, spice, lavender and a hint of spiced tea. There is very good volume to the delicious and energetic middle weight flavors that retain good detail on the saline and youthfully austere finish that is presently a bit tough. While the tannins will undoubtedly soften with time in bottle, its not clear whether this will ultimately harmonize.
