Elijah Craig 12 Year Old South African Matured in ex-American oak bourbonThis small batch Kentucky straight bourbon is named in honor of the Baptist Reverend Elijah Craig (mid 1700s), from Virginia, who the Heaven Hill company dubiously credits with the invention of "true Kentucky Bourbon" by being the first to barrel aged spirit in charred oak casks. The 12yo was discontinued in favour of a no age statement release. Bottled at 47%. Nose: A beautiful note of sweet toasted oak, toffee, spicy stewed fruits, a touch of resin
