On this day in October 2009 some early snow fell in the city which was interesting as the snow line was quite obvious throughout the city especially on the lawn of the capitol building

the 6th highest peak in the range

Well I think this image pretty much sums up an early August afternoon in Juneau

For this photograph I wanted to get a perspective not normally obtained and searched for some snow across the street in Civic Center Park

The location of the cross is Mount Lindo Cemetery which is accessed from Turkey Creek in Morrison

Shadows in the Sand Presentation:Matted On this day in OctoberI made a third trip into the sand dunes at Death Valley National Park at sunrise during my time at the park and was treated with some direct light which gave the deep shadows in the sand. With an earlier in the week wind storm as well as a more remote area in the sand dunes I found may areas without footprints giving the texture of the sand blown into this appearance by the wind. During this morning I also just walked and took in the nature of the
