Based on the old grain cabinets of Qinghai province in western China

Our black lacquer chest of drawers is a modern design - the Chinese did not use chests of drawers as we did in the west until quite recently - but the classic frame and panel joinery and circular brass handles are typical of traditional Chinese furniture

Please note that each piece is individual

They feature the usual circular brass door hardware and hinges

as is the simple hardware on the doors

Wooden Carved Buddha blue-white-ceramic Based on the old grainThese serene looking buddhas, seated in the lotus position with hands clasped in prayer, are hand carved from wood and given an aged appearance. As they are produced by hand, each one is very slightly different and their robes are painted in muted greens, reds and blues.
