Caol Ila 12 Year Old Speyside Produced from unpeated malt andOriginally launched in 2002, the 12yo is the entry point into the Caol Ila core range (and sadly the only expression from the distillery available in SA). Although not as pronounced as its fellow peated neighbours, it is still unmistakably a classic Islay malt. Predominantly matured in ex bourbon casks. Bottled at 43%. Nose: Subdued, citric fruitiness; a whiff of bath oil and dentist's mouthwash. Fresh and appetising with soft smoke. Palate: Good
