At the base of the design are Pesach, Shavuot and Sukkoth. The top seven sections show the Seven Species: wheat; barley; pomegranate; vine; olive; fig and date palm. Flanking the left side are three sections: Shabbat; Purim; and Tu B'shvat, festival of tree planting, presaging the spring and renewal. Flanking the right side are Rosh Hashanah, Hanukah and Simchat Torah.
