Several of the Tourist Class public bathrooms are marked as "Sitz Bath with Shower"

My favorite is of the First Class Dining Room with its red carpet and blue velour chairs

gone are the innovations of the elevator and a la carte restaurant

MARIPOSA & MONTEREY: 1952 - Pre-maiden plan '55 Home Lines Inside are small color photosMatson Lines: A fold out deck plan (20" by 25") dated November 1955, a year before the MARIPOSA and MONTEREY took their maiden voyage for Matson. The ships were launched in 1952 as C 4 freighters but were soon bought by Matson for conversion. The plans show five decks. Very good condition.
