The stark light of sunrise shines low in the sky and points to the path beside the trees

The last orange leaves of fall cling to the topmost branches of tall

its open beak a bright orange against the muted blues

Bare trees and full evergreen shrubs stand out stark black against the gray sky and cast evening shadows on the snowy ground. A streak of white light crosses the sky above. You can almost feel the crisp, cold air. Sometimes I can study an image and sometimes it needs to be taken right now to catch the stream of light across the horizon.
