This makes the pickups suitable for modern guitars with a flatter radius, and for players who typically find staggered poles get in their way. The AlNiCo 4 magnets retain a vintage sound, with a flatter EQ they serve as a half way house between AlNiCo 2 & 5 magnets. They have good definition, with a bright top end, full mids, strong
