Two Iban Dayak Carved Gourd Lime Boxes, Borneo, 19th Century This elongated triangular shaped arrowheadA pair of finely preserved 19th Century carved gourd lime boxes from the Iban people of Samarinda, Borneo, Indonesia. Each vessel is intricately carved with traditional spiral motifs, rising to a rim encircled by a continuous zigzag border. The exterior surfaces retain traces of the original white lime wash, attesting to their age and authentic use. Presented on bespoke walnut museum display stands.
