There looks to have been a small chip to the enamel close to the closure which was painted over with black nail polish or something similar to hide the enamel loss by a previous owner

Paste is a leaded glass cut by hand to imitate diamonds and commonly used in the Victorian period. One paste is slightly larger than it's pair, measuring 6. 3 x 6. 4 x 4. 5 mm. The other measures 6 x 6 x 4. 5 mm. These little idiosyncracies are part of
