Antique French Dore Bronze Snuff Box with Portrait Miniature, Like Marie-Antoinette w Big Hat dressing The cover glass is framedHeavy gilded or 'dore' bronze oval snuff or patch, bonbon surmounted by a hand painted miniature painting, a portrait of a figure who might be slightly stylized Marie Antoinette. Beautifully crafted, entirely lined in natural shell, the painting still protected under its slightly convex and polished cover glass. In the manner of late 1700s snuffs, but I sense it is into the early 19th century, instead. Full measurements are noted on our photos. Very
