this beautiful and rare bottle would have contained a fine first vintage armagnac matured in the oak black Gascony reserve of Count Henry of Peyrouse (mansion living saint) which is a very old brand claiming roots back to 1559

and as such they could have been a spur of the moment creation on the move

whilst the frame has some minor scuffs commensurate with age

A similar label can be found on a suitcase in the Imperial War museum archive

and senior physician to University College Hospital (1834)
