3 – The exhaust heat shields must be removed from the driveshaft tunnel and the heat shield mounting studs must be ground flush with the tunnel

Please keep in mind a high performance race car will need the axles to be the same diameter for obvious reasons stated above

This will ensure that the shaft will not distort or break like the factory units. The factory shaft is made from a smaller tube (there are 2 different types) and will flex and actually bend during hard acceleration, causing the rubber drives to wear out prematurely.
